Bassmint Music considers new executives
Columbus, Ohio - Bassmint Music a premier independent music online record label, music publisher and music marketing company held a conference call meeting on Tuesday December 16, 2008, with three new potential members of the Bassmint Music management team and distributor.
In attendance, was a former senior finance executive of two of the Big-3 major labels who is considering coming on board as VP and CFO and two additional directors with music industry and business experience. They will manage the Director of Marketing and Promotions and Director of Media & PR roles and responsibilities respectively. More information and names of the new candidates will be announced soon.
The company plans to initiate a private equity offerring to accredited investors in coming months. Bassmint will license and feature an independent music artists download service and streaming HD video service. Development for mobile devices is being researched. A new look and feel to the company's websites are also underway.
Bassmint recently re-confirmed it's internship opportunity with the University of Tampa. Bassmint will reinstate it's internship program with several other universities in coming weeks including the University of Miami (FL.) and The Ohio State University's Journalism and Communications department.

Bassmint looks forward to second half 2008
(Columbus) - Independent music label Bassmint Music is looking forward to the second half of 2008. Representatives of the company say the last six months to a year have been rough due to changes in the music industry and the U.S. economy to say the least but the company is opportunistic about the second half of 2008. Bassmint plans to partner with strategic companies and secure new executive talent and artists.
"We had to restructure and redefine our objectives. I feel we have a very strong business IQ on where the independent music market is heading and needs to go. Bassmint and Cutting talk M&D deal
(Columbus) - Independent music label Bassmint Music and long time independent music label Cutting Records are in talks where both companies are considering a strategic partnership where Cutting will manufacture and distribute select Bassmint products.
Bassmint CEO Jerry Calliste Jr. said, "I like the prospect of having a company like Cutting Records represent our new Bassmint music products."
Cutting Records has served the independent music market for close to 25 years. Since 1983 Cutting has successfully manufactured and distributed many genres of music from electro hip hop funk to latin hip hop, latin pop, reggaeton and rock.
Among the many gold and platinum success stories in Cutting's artist catalog is the recent two time Grammy Award nominated Fulanito and the 90's popular dance music group 2 In A Room who created the club hit 'Wiggle It".

Electro star not Hashim Music LER CD delayed

Bassmint Music Inc. , an online music company since 2001, announced today that it will partner with long time music publisher
Hashim Music and release new songs mixed and produced by legendary electro, hip-hop, funk songwriter and producer
Jerry Calliste Jr. It should be noted for the record that
Jerry Calliste Jr.'s artists name is not
Hashim Music.
Hashim Music is the name of a music publishing company registered with ASCAP for 24 years.
Hashim Music is the co-publisher for, among others, the popular old school hip hop-electro songs "B Boys Breakdance" by the High Fidelity Three, "We Come To Rock", "Live It Up" by the Imperial Brothers, "Crimes of Passion" by Soft Touch and "I Don't Need Your Love" By Hashim featuring Jai Sims.
Jerry Calliste Jr. is better known throughout the hip hop and electro music scenes for his songwriting and production prowess on "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)" released on
Cutting Records in 1983. "Al-Naafiysh" or as many people refer to the song by it's B-side intro "It Time" is considered an old school hip hop and definitive electro funk classic. A DJ must have for their crates. The song appears on over 60+ dance music compilations worldwide.
The new songs written and produced by
Jerry Calliste Jr. will be featured on a full length CD as
Hashim Music presents... Authentic Electro Star Productions, "Limited Edition Releases (L.E.R.)" (see
www.hashimmusic.com for more details). The tracks that comprise the full length CD will also be available in MP3 and ring tone formats.
"Limited Edition Releases (L.E.R.)" will be released once
Jerry Calliste Jr. has had an opportunity to complete additional songs and co-productions. "We had a Summer release date in mind but decided to work on additional songs and release the debut CD later in the year" says Calliste.
Out of the Bassmint camp where
Jerry Calliste Jr. is also president & CEO there is no word on exactly when the LER CD will drop. Calliste said, "We anticipate releasing L.E.R. before the end of 2007."

Bassmint is in talks with independent labels about building possible strategic partnerships for its up coming launch of
Bassmintmusic.com's Beta v2.0 in Fall 2007.
The company declined to say with whom these talks are taking place with due to the newness of the discussions and siting confidentiality.
